Fulton County School System Honors Northside Hospital's Commitment To Education
Northside Hospital has been recognized for its continued support of the Fulton County School System with the prestigious "Friend of Public Education” award, as well as the school system's first-ever "Distinguished Partner Award.” Both awards were presented at a board meeting March 13, 2008 at Dunwoody Springs Charter School.
"It's an honor to be recognized by the Fulton County School System,” said Freda Hardage, director of Northside Hospital's physician services/outpatient marketing. "Our school partnerships allow opportunities to reach students and employees and positively impact their lives.”

Northside has had a longstanding partnership with the Fulton County School System, contributing significant monetary and in-kind donations over the past 10 years. In fact, the hospital has been an active business partner with more than 25 Fulton schools and is one of Fulton County's chief sponsors of fund-raising and recognition activities. Additionally, Northside has provided weight room equipment to Riverwood High School, internships to North Springs High School students, sponsored health-related and educational programs at schools and has provided volunteer support at career days and technology fairs.
"We are humbled by this award and consider it a pleasure to sponsor student and employee programs,” said Laura Lyle, manager, Northside Hospital's Partners in Education and corporate health program. "It has been our privilege to be partners with such great Fulton County individuals, schools and student groups.”
To be nominated for the Friend of Public Education award, an organization must have met criteria for the several years, including a contribution of more than $50,000, exemplary leadership roles on two or more system-wide task forces or committees and exemplary leadership in championing an issue which furthers the mission, values and beliefs of the system.
Northside Hospital's Partners In Education program is designed to enrich the learning and success of partnering schools. Now in 79 schools in seven metro counties, the PIE program provides resources and support based on the needs of each individual school.
